Four Arrested in Thane Police Operation Targeting House Break-Ins, Mobile Thefts

Thane, 7th June 2024: To combat house break-ins and mobile thefts, the crime branch of Thane police has dismantled a criminal gang, leading to the apprehension of four individuals. Acting on intelligence, the police initially detained Rajput Shaikh, also known as Sagar, aged 26 and hailing from Bhiwandi, who already had eight cases registered against him.

During the operation, law enforcement officers seized gold ornaments and 43 smartphones valued at Rs 8,83,100 from Shaikh. His apprehension followed diligent surveillance by a police team. Subsequent interrogation revealed the involvement of the prime suspect, Akhtar Khan, alias Dara, aged 25, who also had eight cases against him, along with accomplices Mohammad Shamsuddin, aged 19, and Mohammad Ansari, aged 26.

Following the arrest of Dara, the remaining two suspects were apprehended, and all were presented before the court for legal proceedings. Additionally, another individual who had purchased valuables from the gang was also arrested as part of the operation.
