Two Developers Cheat Third In Thane

Thane, 3rd January 2023: In Gauripada in Kalyan West, two developer firms cheated another developer firm by not paying the agreed construction fee as per their registration agreement. Apart from this, the developers also built six stories more than the permitted 12 stories illegally. They also cheated the municipal corporation and the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) to get the illegal construction registered. Due to this, one developer filed a complaint against five developers at the Khadakpada police station. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

The accused developers are Shashikant Chaudhary, Jayashree Chaudhary, partners of Chaudhary Developers, Kapil Patel, Janak Patel, partners of Shakti Realty and architect John Varghese. Developer Zahir Ahmad Abdul Hameed Qureshi (66, Kalyan), a partner of Nest India Builders and Developers, is the complainant in the case.

Police said the complainant, developer Qureshi, had taken the land in Gauripada for development some years ago. Due to some reasons, they could not construct the building on this land. He gave this land to Chaudhary Developers for development. After that Chaudhary and Shakti Realty organization decided to construct the building. Both the developers had agreed to pay compensation and a parking space in the building to the complainant. Chaudhary and Shakti Developers did not keep their word as planned and ignored Qureshi’s legal notice.

Qureshi filed a suit in the welfare court seeking action against the developers. The court ordered the police to register a complaint.
