Mumbai Mayor Provides Unlocking Rules, Malls And Movie Theatres Still Closed

Mumbai, 7th June 2021: Maharashtra state government recently announced five categories of unlocking the state. All the cities and districts were put into these categories according to their COVID positivity rate and oxygen beds occupancy.

Today, in a press conference, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar provided the details of what is allowed and what is not allowed during unlocking the city.

The gyms, spas, restaurants, hotels, saloons, beauty parlours are allowed to open till 4 pm with 50 per cent capacity. Hotels and restaurants are allowed to have parcel service and home deliveries after 4 pm; everything else will be shut. Also, all the gyms, beauty parlours, spas are instructed to keep their Air Conditioner (ACs) devices off.

Theatres and malls in Mumbai will still be closed. However, shooting is allowed from 9 am to 5 pm. All social and cultural gatherings are allowed between Monday to Friday with a minimal crowd.

All the private offices can now be opened till 4 pm. 50 per cent of employees are allowed to come to the private offices. Labourers who have the facilities of food and shelters at the place of construction are allowed to start the work again.

It must be noted that marriage functions are now allowed but more than 50 people are not allowed to gather at a wedding. Funerals are allowed to take place in the presence of not more than 20 people. Also, jogging tracks and gardens will be open from 5 am to 9 am and 6 pm to 9 pm.

Lifeline of Mumbai, the local train service is still closed for common citizens. Mayor said that the decision regarding the same will be taken after taking positivity rate and bed occupancy into account.
