Mumbai: Protest In Aarey Again, There Will Be Agitation Every Sunday

Mumbai, 9th July 2022: Environmentalists have intensified agitation against the Metro 3 car shed. An agitation against Aarey car shed and government will be held at Aarey Picnic Point on Sunday at 11 am. Environmentalists, residents and citizens of Mumbai have once again called for saving Aarey against the government’s decision to set up a car shed in Aarey.

Accordingly, a big agitation had taken place at Aarey Picnic Point last Sunday after a gap of two years. The ‘Save Aarey’ movement has intensified as the state government is adamant about Aarey despite the opposition to the Aarey car shed. After that, such agitation will be held every Sunday.

“We are being accused of opposing the development. But we are not opposing Metro and never will. We oppose development that degrades the environment. That is why we are appealing to make a car depot in Kanjurmarg, not in Aarey,” said Sanjin Valsan.

“We want the metro project to be even stronger. That is why there needs to be an integrated car shed project at Kanjurmarg. If this project happens, there will be four-car sheds in one place. This will save time, money and space,” Valsan added further.
