Women’s Day Gift: Doorstep Drinking Water Facility Initiated in Shewalewadi, Pune

Manjari, 8th March 2024: In a thoughtful gesture aimed at alleviating the daily struggle of fetching water, Rahul Shewale, the district general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has bestowed a unique gift on the women of Shewalewadi on International Women’s Day.

Recognizing the hardships faced by women in obtaining water, Shewale has personally funded the installation of a water pipeline directly to their doorsteps.

Shewalewadi village has grappled with inadequate water supply for several years, particularly in regions where narrow roads impede the movement of water tankers. Women, in particular, bore the brunt of this issue, having to traverse the entire village to fetch water. This ordeal not only posed a physical challenge but also took a toll on their psychological well-being.

Having inspected an area comprising 150 to 200 houses, Shewale took the initiative to lay a water pipeline at his own expense. This innovative solution ensures water supply to every corner of the village, facilitated by the municipality’s tanker. Bhavna Shewale, expressing her satisfaction with the initiative, acknowledged the positive impact it would have on the lives of the residents.

The inauguration of the doorstep drinking water facility was attended by community leaders, including Rambhau Shewale, Namdev Gawde, Rajendra Ghule, Suresh Shewale, Deepak Dhore, Akshay Memane, Balasaheb Bhandari, Tejas Kalal, Ramhari Vankar, Dnyaneshwar Kumbhar, Shivam Gupta, Balasaheb Khawle, and numerous local women.
