Mumbai: Salman Khan Records Statement on Threats, Recounts Legal Battles Since 1998

Mumbai, 13th June 2024: Actor Salman Khan, who has been reportedly facing ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, expressed his frustration and fatigue during his statement to the crime branch. He emphasized his view that he has already faced significant consequences and financial penalties from various courts for a crime he was accused of back in 1998, related to the alleged hunting of chinkaras near Jodhpur during a film shoot.

The city crime branch, currently investigating the case involving two gunmen who fired at Khan’s residence in Bandra on April 13 on behalf of Bishnoi, recorded statements from Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan on June 4. Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai police recently apprehended another faction of the Bishnoi gang allegedly planning an attack near the actor’s Panvel farmhouse. Authorities from Navi Mumbai are also set to record Khan’s statement.

In a related development, the city crime branch arrested Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, whose interrogation led to the apprehension of five others. Tragically, one of the detainees, Anuj Thapan, died by suicide while in police custody. Sources from the crime branch indicated that the police are nearing completion of the chargesheet and have recorded Salman Khan’s statement to bolster their case.
