Influencer Anvi Kamdar Falls 300 Feet into Gorge While Making Reel, Passes Away

Mumbai, 18th July 2024: In a tragic incident, 27-year-old Mumbai-based influencer Anvi Kamdar died after falling into a 300-foot deep gorge near the famous Kumbhe waterfall in Mangaon, Raigad district, while making a video. The accident occurred on Tuesday, July 16, during a monsoon outing with her seven friends.

Kamdar, a resident of Mumbai’s Mulund area, was a well-known influencer with 257,000 Instagram followers under the username @theglocaljournal. She created content on travel, luxury finds, cafés, itineraries, tips, and experiences. Her bio mentioned that she was a chartered accountant by profession and a former employee of Deloitte.

According to police officials, Kamdar had visited the picturesque waterfall with her friends to enjoy the monsoon rains. While recording a video of the scenic surroundings, she accidentally fell into the gorge. Her friends quickly alerted the authorities, and police and local rescuers arrived at the scene. Kamdar was rushed to the nearby Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital, where she unfortunately died during treatment.

The incident has left her followers and the influencer community in shock and mourning, highlighting the potential dangers of capturing content in hazardous locations.
