Man Killed, Two Injured In Attack During Garba Event In Thane District

Thane, 14th October 2024: A man was killed, and two others sustained injuries after a group attacked them during a garba event in Thane district, Maharashtra, according to an official report on Sunday.

Authorities have detained eight individuals in connection with the incident, which occurred near a temple at Devichi Ali in Murbad during the late hours of Saturday night into Sunday.

While a garba program was in progress, a group confronted the attendees, resulting in Sachin (Nanu) Parmar being stabbed and two others being assaulted with sharp objects. Parmar was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The official noted that the victims were pedestrians who happened to be passing through the area when some individuals initiated an argument, claiming they were outsiders intruding on the event. The investigation is ongoing.
