Mumbai: Salman Khan Receives New Rs 5 Crore Threat Over Lawrence Bishnoi Enmity
Mumbai, 18th October 2024: Salman Khan was once again the target of a threat on Thursday, when a message was sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai traffic police, demanding Rs 5 crore from the actor in exchange for “ending the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi” and ensuring his safety.
Crime Branch officials of the Mumbai police have suggested that the message may be a hoax, but efforts are underway to trace its origin. According to the police, the message contained a warning that if the money was not paid, Salman Khan would face consequences worse than those experienced by Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra MLA. Siddique was shot dead last week outside his son’s office in Bandra by three assailants, leading to the arrest of four individuals by the Crime Branch, including two shooters.
The Mumbai traffic police received the threat shortly after the Siddique incident. A senior traffic official confirmed that a formal complaint has been lodged with the Worli police regarding the matter.
This is not the first time Salman Khan has been threatened. In 2022, a threatening note was found on a bench near his residence in Bandra. In 2023, the actor received a threatening email, and earlier this year, in April, two shooters allegedly fired shots outside his house.
In a related incident, the Navi Mumbai police registered a case in April against 18 individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi and his associate Anmol Bishnoi, for plotting to assassinate the actor.
