Mumbai Police Arrest Brothers For Murdering Ola Driver After Parking Dispute Escalates

Mumbai, 23rd December 2024: Mumbai police have arrested two brothers accused of killing an Ola cab driver following a dispute after his car grazed their scooter, injuring their mother. The suspects, Mohammad Rafiq Sharif Abbas Ali Shaikh (35) and Abdul Karim Shaikh (30), who run a scrap shop in Shivaji Nagar, allegedly attacked the victim, Adil Talim Khan (38), a resident of the same locality.
The altercation occurred on Saturday, 21st December, when Khan’s car, while being retrieved from a parking space near the accused’s shop, reportedly struck the brothers’ scooter, leading to its fall and causing injuries to their mother. Mohammad Rafiq Shaikh confronted Khan over the incident, but eyewitnesses intervened to de-escalate the situation.
Later that evening, Khan returned with two individuals and allegedly assaulted Mohammad Rafiq Shaikh. In response, the brothers reportedly decided to seek revenge. At around 11 p.m., they entered Khan’s home armed with a chopper and knife, attacking him multiple times in the head, chest, abdomen, and thigh.
Neighbours rushed Khan to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. They immediately informed the police, who initiated an investigation. Based on a complaint filed by Khan’s wife, the accused were apprehended in their neighbourhood.
The brothers have been charged with murder and remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
