Central Railway Announces 44 Additional Ganpati Special Trains; Total Now 296 Services for Ganpati Festival 2025
Mumbai, 30th July 2025: In a move to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Ganpati Festival, Central Railway has announced 44 additional Ganpati Special trains, raising the total number of services to 296. The additional services include a bi-weekly special between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Sawantwadi Road and daily MEMU unreserved specials between Diva and Khed. Additionally, the existing Diva–Chiplun–Diva MEMU services have been extended by two more trips.
Details of Additional Ganpati Specials
LTT – Sawantwadi Road – LTT Bi-weekly Special (8 Services)
Train No. 01131 will depart Lokmanya Tilak Terminus every Thursday and Sunday at 08:45 hrs on August 28, August 31, September 4, and September 7, 2025, reaching Sawantwadi Road at 22:20 hrs the same day.
In the return direction, Train No. 01132 will leave Sawantwadi Road at 23:20 hrs on the same dates and arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 12:30 hrs the next day.
These trains will halt at: Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, and Zarap.
The train composition includes 2 AC-3 Tier coaches, 12 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class, and 2 Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Vans.
Diva – Khed – Diva MEMU Daily Unreserved Specials (36 Services)
Train No. 01133 will depart Diva at 13:40 hrs daily from August 22 to September 8, 2025, reaching Khed at 20:00 hrs the same day.
The return service, Train No. 01134, will leave Khed at 08:00 hrs daily from August 23 to September 9, 2025, arriving at Diva at 13:00 hrs.
These MEMU services will halt at: Nilje, Taloja Panchanad, Kalamboli, Panvel, Somatane, Rasayani, Apta, Jite, Hamarapur, Pen, Kasu, Nagothane, Nidi, Roha, Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Sape Wamne, Karanjadi, Vinhere, Diwankhavati, and Kalambani Budruk.
The services will be operated using 8-car MEMU rakes.
Extension of Diva – Chiplun – Diva MEMU Daily Unreserved Specials
Train Nos. 01155/01156 Diva – Chiplun – Diva MEMU Daily Unreserved Specials have been extended by two additional services, adding one trip each of Diva–Chiplun and Chiplun–Diva, thereby increasing the total number of services from 38 to 40.
These MEMU Specials will now operate from August 22 to September 10, 2025.
Reservation Details
Bookings for Ganpati Special Train No. 01131 will open on August 3, 2025, at all computerized reservation centres and on the IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in).
Bookings for unreserved coaches can be made through the UTS mobile application or ticket counters, with normal charges applicable for unreserved accommodation in superfast Mail/Express trains.
