Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur Trains Cancelled Till July 28 as Lonavala–Karjat Restoration Continues

Pune/Mumbai, 24th July 2026: Central Railway has extended the cancellation, diversion, short termination and short origination of several train services until July 28 as restoration work on the third railway line between Karjat and Lonavala continues following landslides triggered by heavy rainfall earlier this month.

The railway administration said the South East Down Line and the Middle Line on the ghat section have already been restored and train services have resumed on those routes. However, operational restrictions will remain in place until the third line is brought back into service.

Major Trains Cancelled

The following trains have been cancelled on the specified dates:

22157 CSMT–Chennai Express: July 25 to 28

22732 CSMT–Hyderabad Express: July 25 to 28

22944 Indore–Daund Express: July 25 to 27

20495 Jodhpur–Hadapsar Express: July 25 to 27

11041 Dadar–Sainagar Shirdi Express: July 25

Up trains

22158 Chennai–CSMT Express: July 25 to 28

22731 Hyderabad–CSMT Express: July 25 to 27

22943 Daund–Indore Express: July 25 to 28

20496 Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express: July 25 to 28

11042 Sainagar Shirdi–Dadar Express: July 26

Trains Diverted

Several long-distance trains will operate on diverted routes via Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan, Daund–Manmad–Jalgaon–Paldhi–Surat, Daund Chord Line–Manmad–Bhusaval, Kalyan–Manmad–Daund–Solapur, and Surat–Paldhi–Manmad–Daund–Solapur between July 23 and July 28.

The affected services include the Visakhapatnam–LTT Express, Madurai–LTT Express, Karaikal–LTT Express, Daund–Ajmer Express, Daund–Gwalior Express, Secunderabad–Rajkot Express, Coimbatore–Rajkot Express, Pune–Santragachi Express, Santragachi–Pune Express, LTT–Visakhapatnam Express, Rajkot–Secunderabad Express, Porbandar–Secunderabad Express, Rajkot–Coimbatore Express and Gwalior–Daund Express.

Short Termination and Short Origination

The 11140 Hospete–CSMT Express will be short terminated at Pune from July 24 to July 27, while the 11030 Kolhapur–CSMT Express will be short terminated at Khadki from July 25 to July 28.

The 11029 CSMT–Kolhapur Express will short originate from Pune, and the 11139 CSMT–Hospete Express will short originate from Khadki from July 25 to July 28.

Central Railway stated that restoration work on the third line is continuing round the clock in the difficult terrain of the Lonavala–Karjat ghat section. Passengers have been advised to check the latest train running status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the railway helpline before commencing their journey.
