Mumbai: Police Saves Man Panning Suicide After Expressing Intentions On Twitter
Mumbai, 18th February 2023: A young man from Mumbai tweeted on Twitter that he was planning to end his life. Tracking the location of the youth, within hours of the youth’s posting, the Mumbai Police reached Karjat in Raigad district. According to the police officer, the 24-year-old man is a resident of Chunabhatti near Chembur.
The police officer said that the debt-ridden youth used to sell ‘chikki’, a sweet made of dry fruits and sugar or jaggery, in trains, but he started incurring huge losses and got into debt. The crime branch of the city police came across the youth’s post on Twitter on the 17th of February evening.
In this post, the youth had written that he was planning to end his life due to huge losses in his business. As soon as this information was received, the crime branch alerted the cyber team of Mumbai Police and collected the contact details of the youth so that he could be contacted.
According to the official, around 5 am on Saturday, the police caught him and took him to the cyber department of BKC for counselling. “We have come to know that he has a debt of around Rs three lakh,” the officer said.
