Mumbai: Nair Hospital Helps 44 Children Regain Hearing

Mumbai, 10th March 2023: Patients suffering from ear diseases visit the ENT department of Nair Hospital in large numbers. The hospital has successfully fixed the hearing issues of 44 children. The children and their parents expressed happiness about this.
The ENT department of Nair Hospital has many patients with hearing problems. The number of children is more in this. Some children are born with hearing issues. Some children undergo cochlear implant surgery, while others are provided with hearing aids. Nair Hospital recently played an important role in helping 44 children regain their hearing ability. Some of these 44 children were unable to speak due to hearing impairment. The children were screened and underwent cochlear implant surgery. Some children were provided with hearing aids. This restored the power of hearing to these children.
Most of these children are now going to school. Children with cochlear implants were given information on how to care for and maintain the implant, as well as detailed information from representatives of the cochlear company about the advancements in this technology. The heads of the ENT Department, Dr Bachchi Hathiram and Dr Vicky Khattar, and officials of the Social Services Department guided these children.
“Doctors of Nair Hospital are constantly striving to restore the hearing ability of children who are unable to speak due to hearing impairment through proper treatment. Poor patients are benefiting from this,” said Dr Praveen Rathi, Director of Nair Hospital.
