Navi Mumbai: CIDCO Area Officer Arrested For Demanding And Accepting Bribe

Navi Mumbai, 17th March 2023: A CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra) area officer who demanded a bribe to forward the eligibility proposal for a plot in exchange for land acquired by CIDCO has been caught in the bribery department’s web. Out of Rs seven lakh, Rs three lakh has been found, which he took in the first instalment.

This action has been taken against the area officer who is on the verge of retirement, and his name is Mukund Banda. A bribe of Rs seven lakh was demanded from the plaintiff for sending for approval the proposal to determine the eligibility of the plot to be received from CIDCO in exchange for the house acquired in Navi Mumbai International Airport Rehabilitation. In this regard, the plaintiff filed a complaint with the Bribery Department on 2nd March. During the verification conducted on the 13th, it was observed that Banda had demanded a total of seven lakh rupees as a bribe for himself and others. As the first, Rs three lakh was accepted at the CIDCO office in Navi Mumbai during a bribery operation, where he was caught red-handed at 12:18 before the magistrate.

The action has been taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Sunil Lokhande and Upper Superintendent of Police Anil Gherdikar, and the leadership of Deputy Superintendent Jyoti Deshmukh.
