Thane: Minor Boy Arrested For Trying To Set Deaf Man On Fire On Train
Thane, 27th March 2023: A 16-year-old boy was arrested by the Thane Lohmarg Police from Bhiwandi late Sunday night after he tried to set fire to a deaf man travelling in a Central Railway suburban train by throwing inflammable material on him.
Pramod Wadekar, who lives in Diva, is deaf. On Saturday night, while he was travelling from Kanjurmarg to Diva, a person in the disabled compartment of the train set fire to his shirt by putting an inflammable narcotic substance on his shirt.
Pramod’s entire left hand was burnt in this incident. The palm of the right hand is also injured. The fire was extinguished with the help of a passenger in the coach. After this incident, Pramod was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. His condition is stable. A case has been registered in this matter at Thane Lohmarg police station on Sunday and a 16-year-old boy has been detained by the police.
