Mumbai: Selfie Gone Wrong: Woman Slips into River, Heroic Rescue Captured on Video in Palghar
Palghar, 30th July 2023: In a shocking incident, a woman narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation after slipping and falling into the Surya river while attempting to take a selfie with the floodwater.
The incident occurred at the Bhimbandh tourist area in Waghadi, Dahanu taluk of Palghar district. Thanks to the quick response of some individuals present at the scene, the woman’s life was saved.
According to reports, the woman was visiting the tourist area with her family when the incident occurred. While trying to capture a selfie with the river water in the background, she lost her footing and fell into the river.
Witnesses at the scene immediately sprang into action, attempting to rescue the woman from the water. However, their initial efforts were unsuccessful in pulling her to safety. Undeterred, Pintu Gahala, the deputy chairman of Dahanu Panchayat Samiti, bravely jumped into the river and successfully rescued the woman. A video capturing this heroic act has since gone viral on social media platforms.
