Mumbai: Collapsed Pathway In Mumbai’s Mulund Area Damaged Six Vehicles

Mulund, 16th September 2023: Yesterday, an incident of pavement collapse occurred in Mumbai’s Mulund area. Fortunately, no one was injured in this occurrence; however, six two-wheelers on the footpath allegedly slid into the rocks and were severely damaged.

According to locals, the event occurred on Friday at about 10 p.m. in the P.K. Road area of Mulund. The Municipal Corporation renovated the pathway two years ago. However, on Friday night, this sidewalk suddenly collapsed four to five feet deep.

Fortunately, a major accident was avoided as no one was walking on this footpath at night. But the bikes standing on the footpath were damaged in this incident.

As soon as the locals learned about the incident, they rushed to the spot. Soon after, a team of municipal officials and fire department workers also followed to assess the situation. Officials removed the downed bikes from the sidewalk, establishing barriers along the side of the road to prevent access to the affected footpath.

Meanwhile, the residents are demanding that strict action be taken against the contractor responsible for the situation.
