Mumbai: Chargesheet Filed Against Dismissed RPF Jawan In Borivali Railway Shooting Incident

Mumbai, 21st October 2023: The Borivali Railway Police have filed a comprehensive 197-page chargesheet against dismissed Railway Security Force (RPF) jawan Chetan Singh Chaudhary. The chargesheet, which was filed in Borivali’s Municipal Magistrate’s Court, includes statements from 169 witnesses and is in relation to the July 31 firing on the Jaipur-Mumbai Express.

Chaudhary was in possession of a semi-automatic assault rifle and 20 cartridges at the time of the incident. He discharged 12 of these cartridges on the fateful day. The police were able to seize the pangals used in the shooting shortly after the incident occurred. Furthermore, cartridges were recovered from the bodies of the deceased during subsequent autopsies.

Alongside the recovered rifle, the seized cartridges have been sent for a ballistic report to assist in the ongoing investigation. This comprehensive evidence collection aims to provide a clear understanding of the events that transpired and to facilitate a thorough judicial process.
