Mumbai: Western Railway’s Seven Officers/Staff To Get ‘Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar’ For Meritorious Performance
Mumbai, 13th December 2023: Every year, Indian Railways felicitates around 100 of its employees who have excelled and have shown exemplary, outstanding, meritorious and commendable performance in various categories. These officers/staff are chosen from the pool of 1.2 million railway employees across Indian Railways. Also, the Zonal Railways which outshined in the performance parameters in various fields are also presented with the Efficiency Shields.
These Awards till last year was termed as the National Railways Award or the Minister of Railways (MR) Award. However, the entire award eco-system has been revised from this year onwards and has been renamed as ‘Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar’. The Award which will be presented by Ashwini Vaishnaw – Minister of Railways, includes presentation of a Silver Medal and Merit Certificate to the awardees. This year the 68th National Railway Week Function to present these Awards & shields will be held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on Friday, 15th December, 2023.
This year Western Railway’s seven officers/staff will be receiving the coveted ‘Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar’ for their meritorious performance during the year 2022-23. Amongst these are (1) Yogesh Kumar – Dy. Chief Engineer (2) Anant Kumar – Dy. Chief Engineer (3) Dr. Zenia Gupta – Sr. Divisional Operations Manager (4) Priyansh Agrawal – Divisional Engineer (5) Menaka D Pandian – Sr. Section Officer (6) Binay Kumar Jha – Station Superintendent (Operating) (7) Sanju Pasi – Commercial Superintendent.
This Award is not only an achievement for the officer/ staff but also a matter of pride for their family members, colleagues and their near & dear ones. Western Railway takes a peek into their accomplishments, their hardwork & dedication which helped them to achieve this once of a lifetime opportunity.
Yogesh Kumar working as Dy Chief Engineer, Construction, Churchgate, has done commendable work in the year 2022-23 and due to his sincere & dedicated efforts, he is being awarded with the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (AVRSP), 2023 in the Category of Completion of Projects in record time. He has accomplished various important & major infrastructural projects within record time. These works include rebuilding of Delisle ROB at Lower Parel, Mumbai with Truss type (Open Web Girder) bridge having a span of 89 m & 65-degree skew alignment, Completing the dismantling work of Gokhale ROB at Andheri by undertaking continuous traffic & power block without any repercussions to rail traffic. He has been instrumental in Construction & Commissioning of 6th line between Khar – Goregaon which will decongest the Mumbai suburban trains and reduce the travel time of Mail/Express train. Besides these, some important projects have also been executed by him with meticulous planning.
Priyansh Agrawal – Divisional Engineer, Mumbai Central Division is looking after the challenging and intensively utilized Churchgate – Virar suburban section of Western Railway. He has displayed exemplary & innovative ways to tackle the most valuable fixed asset to ensure that Mumbai Suburban services of WR continue to serve the people in a safe and efficient manner. Under his guidance & supervision, some of the major works included removing of redundant turnouts, diamond crossovers & shifting and insertion of points to enhance flexibility of train operations, etc. In recognition for his outstanding work, Priyansh Agrawal is being felicitated with the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (AVRSP), 2023 in the Category of Exemplary work done to improve operations, security & safety, better maintenance and utilization of assets
Menaka Dorothy Pandian, Sr. Section Officer, Churchgate was responsible for initiating the engagement of Third-Party agencies for inspection of goods being done for the first time over Indian Railways, the task which was endowed to Western Railway as a pilot project. In recognition of her commitment to excel as well as supreme dedication and performance this year in the discharge of her duties, Pandian is being awarded with the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (AVRSP), 2023 in the Category of Completion of Projects in record time.
