Burst Water Main Causes Disruption in Mumbai’s Bandra-Jogeshwari Area

Mumbai, 1st December 2023: A burst water main near Seepz Gate No. 3 and the Indian Oil Petrol Pump at Andheri East on Thursday night has led to disruptions in water supply in Mumbai’s Bandra-Jogeshwari area. The incident occurred due to ongoing excavation work for the Mumbai Metro project. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated repair work on an urgent basis to address the issue.

The rupture affected one of the two 1800 mm diameter inlets of the Veravali 3 Reservoir, causing leakage. The repair work on the water channel is being conducted expeditiously to restore normalcy.

Citizens faced inconvenience due to the disruption in water supply.

The BMC administration has urged residents to use water judiciously and cooperate during this repair period. The situation is being closely monitored, and efforts are underway to expedite the repair work and restore regular water supply to the affected areas.
