Commuters Bear the Brunt As Rain-Induced Traffic Jam Plagues Kalwa-Thane Road

Thane, 26th June 2023: Heavy rain in the city has wreaked havoc on the Thane-Belapur route, resulting in lengthy queues of vehicles stretching from the Vitawa railway bridge to Kalwa Naka. Commuters heading towards Navi Mumbai have borne the brunt of this relentless traffic jam, enduring significant delays and frustration. The increased vehicular load on this route can be attributed to the ongoing construction of the third creek bridge by the Municipal Corporation at Kalwa.

On Monday, queues of vehicles snaked both under and on the flyover along this route, exacerbating the traffic woes for drivers. The sufferings of commuters have been compounded as they struggle to reach their workplaces on time. Traffic police are working to alleviate the traffic.

The incessant rain has transformed what would typically be a routine commute into a tedious and time-consuming ordeal. What would normally be a five-minute journey now takes drivers a staggering half an hour to complete. Consequently, employees and workers have faced significant delays in reaching their destinations, causing disruptions in their schedules.
