CSMT Platforms 16-17 to Remain Closed for 85 Days; Several Mail, Express Trains Short-Terminated
Mumbai, 30th January 2026: Central Railway will operate a Traffic and Power Block at Platforms 16 and 17 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in connection with redevelopment work being carried out by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), railway officials said.
The block will be in force for 85 days, from February 1 to April 26, 2026, during which foundational and allied redevelopment works will be undertaken at the two platforms. As a result, train operations from Platforms 16 and 17 will remain suspended throughout the block period until the completion of work and handing over of the platforms by RLDA for traffic operations.
Due to the block, several UP Mail and Express trains commencing their journey on or after February 1, 2026, will be short-terminated until further advice.

Train No. 12134 Mangaluru–CSMT Express
The Traffic and Power Block has been scheduled to facilitate redevelopment activities at the terminus under the ongoing RLDA project.
