Dawood Ibrahim’s Ancestral Properties Set for Auction, Hindu Mahasabha President Plans Grand Temple

Mumbai, 5th January 2024: Today marks the auction of four ancestral properties belonging to the fugitive global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar. The properties, including his childhood home and three agricultural plots in Mumbke and Lotte villages of Khed taluka, Ratnagiri, are set to go under the hammer at just ₹19 lakh. These assets were seized by authorities under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA).

Swami Chakrapani, the president of Hindu Mahasabha, has announced his intention to bid for these properties at the Mumbai auction. Chakrapani envisions using the acquired properties to build a grand temple dedicated to Lord Chitragupta, the deity of justice. He emphasizes the temple’s purpose as creating awareness of justice for crimes and misdeeds, asserting that Dawood Ibrahim would be symbolically punished by Lord Chitragupta for his alleged crimes against India, including orchestrating bomb blasts and causing loss of innocent lives.

The properties to be auctioned include a bungalow, mango orchards, and agricultural plots registered in the name of Dawood’s mother, Amina Bi. The total valuation of these properties is Rs19 lakh. Dawood, a key accused in the 1993 Bombay serial blasts, had resided in Mumbake village before moving to Mumbai in 1983.

The auction has generated significant interest, with reserve prices set at Rs9.4 lakh for one agricultural plot and Rs8 lakh for another. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the government to seize and dispose of assets related to criminal activities. Notably, several properties of the Dawood Ibrahim family, including a restaurant, six flats, and a guest house, have been previously identified and auctioned.
