Mumbai, 15th July 2025: In a major crackdown on international drug smuggling, officers from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai intercepted a female Indian national arriving from Doha and recovered a massive consignment of cocaine concealed in confectionery packaging. The seizure took place at Mumbai Airport on July 14, 2025, following specific intelligence developed by DRI officials.

Upon her arrival, the passenger was identified and stopped by DRI personnel. A detailed inspection of her baggage led to the discovery of six Oreo boxes and three chocolate boxes. Upon opening them, officers found a total of 300 capsules filled with a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

Field testing confirmed the presence of cocaine in all the capsules. In total, 6,261 grams of the drug were recovered, with its value in the illicit market estimated at approximately ₹62.6 crore. The narcotics were seized under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The woman has been arrested, and further investigation into the smuggling network is underway.
