Grand Inauguration Ceremony in Navi Mumbai as Prime Minister Narendra Modi Unveils Key Infrastructure Projects

Panvel, 4th January 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Navi Mumbai for the grand inauguration of crucial infrastructure projects. The spotlight will be on the state government’s ambitious Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu) and the Uran Kharkopar railway line. The chosen venue is the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport, emphasizing the strategic importance of these projects.
The projects, particularly the Atal Setu, are expected to revolutionize connectivity, enabling direct travel from Navi Mumbai to Sewri in just 20 minutes. This development is poised to significantly enhance communication between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Additionally, experts predict a surge in land prices in the region due to the improved infrastructure.
To ensure a grand inauguration ceremony, CIDCO Corporation has allocated a substantial budget for various works related to the event. The corporation has undertaken projects worth Rs 7 crore 88 lakh, including the construction of entrance and exit ways, internal roads at the airport project site, and other essential preparations. The bidding process, announced in newspapers, is set to conclude on January 4.
CIDCO has invited tenders from contractors for key tasks, allocating Rs 2 crore 65 lakhs for entrance and exit way construction and internal roads, and Rs 5 crore 23 lakhs for ground preparation, pavilion construction, and parking facilities. The bidding process is a crucial step in ensuring the successful execution of these infrastructure projects.
While the exact date and time of Prime Minister Modi’s visit remain unconfirmed, preparations are in full swing. The CIDCO board had previously conducted a tender process for the Navi Mumbai Metro project’s inauguration, highlighting the government’s commitment to unveiling key projects before the Lok Sabha election code of conduct is implemented.
Notably, the Navi Mumbai Metro service, originally intended for inauguration by the Prime Minister, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Balasaheb Thackeray’s memorial day.
