High-Speed BMW Crash on Mumbai Coastal Road; Driver Escapes with Minor Injuries
Mumbai, 5th March 2025: A high-speed BMW lost control and crashed into the divider on Mumbai’s Coastal Road in Worli on Monday while attempting to overtake other vehicles.
Footage of the accident captures the car speeding past a white WagonR and a Toyota Fortuner, weaving between lanes before colliding with the right-side divider. The impact left the luxury vehicle severely damaged, though the driver escaped with only minor injuries, officials confirmed.
Authorities reported that no other individuals were harmed in the incident.
A case has been registered against the driver at Worli Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.
In a similar incident last year, a BMW driven by a diamond merchant struck and killed a worker on the Coastal Road while it was partially open to the public. According to police reports, workers were engaged in their tasks when a loud noise from the southbound corridor drew their attention. Rushing to the scene, they discovered a blue BMW stopped at the roadside, while the victim lay on the road.
The injured worker was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
