Know What NIA Has to Say About Lawrence Bishnoi and Gang Linked to Baba Siddique’s Murder

Mumbai, 17th October 2024: Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang have been linked to the murder of Baba Siddique, a former minister and senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar Group).

According to an investigation conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Lawrence Bishnoi is not only a gangster but also connected to Khalistani organizations working as separatists against India. The NIA has filed charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), alleging that Bishnoi has been aiding Khalistani terrorists. So far, the NIA has filed three chargesheets in this case, revealing that Bishnoi has been in contact with terrorists in Canada and Pakistan.

Lawrence Bishnoi, along with his brother Anmol Bishnoi and accomplice Goldie Brar, operates a gang based in Canada. Recent high-profile murders, including that of Baba Siddique, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and Karni Sena chief Pradeep Kumar, have been attributed to Lawrence and his gang. Alongside these criminal activities, the NIA discovered Bishnoi’s involvement in supporting the Khalistani movement, a separatist cause in India.

Currently, Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat under maximum security in an ‘egg cell.’ Despite several attempts, the Mumbai Police have been unable to obtain his custody, as Bishnoi is also the main accused in the case of a shooting outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house.

In 2022, the NIA registered a UAPA case against Bishnoi for his anti-national activities, followed by additional chargesheets in 2023 and 2024. In a press note released on 6th January 2024, the NIA announced the seizure of four properties belonging to Bishnoi and Khalistani terrorists in Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.

Bishnoi is also accused of aiding Khalistani terrorist Akash Singh, who attacked Punjab police personnel. According to the NIA, a gang member, Joginder Singh, used his Fortuner vehicle to transport weapons to terrorists, while another member, Dalip Kumar, provided a hideout for them. The NIA has confirmed that Bishnoi maintains connections with terrorists in Pakistan and Canada. The Gujarat ATS has also filed a separate case against Bishnoi for his alleged involvement in anti-national activities.

The NIA has recently succeeded in extraditing some of India’s most wanted terrorists with the help of intelligence agencies. This includes the capture of Jabadar Vikramjit Singh, brought from Austria for his involvement in the Tarn Taran bomb blast, and the extradition of Kulwinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Parminder Singh, and Abubakar Haji, who were all in contact with Bishnoi’s gang, according to an NIA press release dated 26th August 2023.

On the other hand, Lawrence Bishnoi has been using social media to create a misleading image of himself. More than 700 youths from various states have joined his gang online, being drawn in by his virtual persona and committing crimes on his orders. Whether it’s the accused in Baba Siddique’s murder or the three youths from Pune district—Santosh Jadhav, Siddesh Kamble, and Navnath Suryavanshi—who were arrested for Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, they all fell for Bishnoi’s false image and joined his gang. The NIA has warned that Lawrence Bishnoi is on the path to becoming the next Dawood Ibrahim.
