Landslide on Mumbra Outer Bypass Road Disrupts Traffic, Prompt Response from Authorities

Mumbra, 28th June 2023: A heavy rainfall-induced landslide occurred on Wednesday at around 3:30 p.m., resulting in a crack on the Mumbra outer bypass road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident significantly slowed down traffic in the affected area. The Disaster Management Department swiftly mobilised their resources to remove the mud and stones, successfully restoring the flow of traffic.

The crack fell on the channel coming from Khadi Machin to Thane on the Mumbra bypass road. Two days prior, a crack had already emerged at the same location, prompting concerns about potential risks. Taking immediate action upon receiving information about the incident, the dedicated staff from the Traffic Police, Mumbra Ward Committee, and Disaster Management Cell quickly reached the scene.

The authorities wasted no time in beginning the restoration process. They immediately cleared the area by removing the accumulated soil and stones caused by the landslide.
