Legal Action Initiated Against Social Media Offender Targeting MVA Leaders in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai, 28th December 2023: The Navi Mumbai Police have taken decisive legal action by filing a First Information Report (FIR) against an individual accused of disseminating objectionable content on social media, specifically targeting prominent leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The FIR includes allegations of content directed at NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, among others. The official statement released on Tuesday confirmed the commencement of legal proceedings against the accused.
While the identity of the individual responsible for the objectionable content has been established, no arrests have been made as of now, according to an official statement from the CBD Belapur police station. The complaint, lodged by a resident of Navi Mumbai, cited objectionable posts on social media targeting MVA leaders such as Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Supriya Sule, Rohit Pawar, and Aaditya Thackeray on December 24, as detailed in the FIR.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. A thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the facts surrounding the case and to determine the appropriate legal actions against the accused.
