Maharashtra Govt Launches Dedicated Helpline to Resolve e-KYC Issues Under ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’

Mumbai, 24th January 2026: In response to mounting complaints over technical glitches and benefit disruptions under the Chief Minister’s Maji Ladki Bahin Yojana, the Maharashtra government has announced a dedicated helpline service to provide immediate assistance to beneficiaries, particularly women facing difficulties during the mandatory e-KYC process.

Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said the decision was taken after the department received several complaints from beneficiaries whose financial assistance was temporarily suspended due to errors committed during the e-KYC procedure. In many cases, beneficiaries reportedly selected incorrect options while completing the verification process, leading to delays or stoppage of benefits despite eligibility.

“To ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of benefits due to technical or procedural issues, assistance has now been made available through the women’s helpline number 181,” Tatkare said on ‘X’ platform (earlier Twitter). She added that the helpline will address not only e-KYC-related errors but also other grievances and queries connected to the scheme.

According to the minister, call operators handling the helpline have been provided with specialised training to ensure accurate guidance and effective grievance redressal. All complaints and doubts related to the Maji Ladki Bahin Yojana will be resolved through this single-point support system, enabling quicker and more efficient responses.

Over the past few months, beneficiaries across the state have flagged issues such as delayed instalments, benefits not being credited even after successful e-KYC completion, and confusion arising from technical options during verification. The new helpline is expected to significantly ease these concerns and improve service delivery.

The state government has urged all beneficiaries to make use of the 181 helpline whenever required, assuring that the initiative is aimed at safeguarding women’s entitlements and ensuring uninterrupted access to benefits under the flagship welfare scheme.
