Mumbai: 15 To 20 Per Cent Increase In School Bus Fares, To Be Implemented From 1st April
Mumbai, 24th March 2023: After increasing the fee by 30 per cent last year, the ‘School Bus Association’ has decided to increase the school bus fee in Mumbai by 15 to 20 per cent again this year. Accordingly, the fee will be increased from 1st April.
Last year, the association increased the school bus fare by 30 per cent. Because the rent was not increased during the Corona period, the fee was directly increased by 30 per cent. This year, the association has decided to increase the fee up to 20 per cent again. The ‘School Bus Association’ has said that due to an increase in fuel price, and increased cost of bus materials, the financial calculations of the month are coming to a head.
The policy of the central government is to scrap vehicles older than fifteen years. Now the rates of new buses have also increased, says the organization. Now the cost of a new bus is Rs 28 lakh, while the price of a mini bus is Rs 21 lakh. Also, the prices of spare parts and batteries have increased by 12 to 18 per cent. The wages of bus drivers and other employees have been increased. Therefore, it has been decided to increase the school bus fare by 15 to 20 per cent from 1st April.
