Mumbai: 21-Year-Old Man And Minor Girl Die By Suicide After Families Oppose Their Relationship

Mumbai, 12th March 2023: A frustrated couple died by suicide by jumping from a mountain due to opposition to their relationship from their family members. The incident occurred in the Samatanagar area of Kandivali East. The name of the man is Akash Jathe (21), and the girl is a minor, police said.

Akash Jathe (21) lived in the Janupada area of Kandivali East. He was earning his living by doing housework. A minor girl was living next to him. Both of them were in a relationship for the past several days. But their family members opposed this relationship.

As the victim was not at home on Friday, the family started searching for her. Since the girl was a minor, the police registered a case of kidnapping and began a search. The girl had left her mobile at home. When police went to question Jathe, it was found that he was also not in the house. Jathe’s mobile was traced.

The police immediately launched a search operation at the phone’s location. At that time, the police found the bodies of both. In this case, the Samtanagar police registered a case of accidental death and sent the bodies to a government hospital for post-mortem. Samatanagar police are conducting further investigation into this matter.
