Mumbai, 2nd March 2024: The Airport Commissionerate of Mumbai Customs Zone-III has successfully seized a staggering 15.89 kilograms of gold, valued at a whopping 8.07 crore rupees between 27th February and 1st March. The operation, involving 13 different cases, revealed a variety of concealment methods employed by individuals attempting to evade customs scrutiny.
The seized gold was discovered in diverse locations, underscoring the lengths to which smugglers go to avoid detection. Unclaimed in the arrival hall, cleverly concealed within the clothing worn by passengers, and even hidden in the corner piping of check-in bags – the smugglers demonstrated a resourcefulness that posed a challenge to authorities.
