Mumbai: FIR Registered Against Man For Repeatedly Raping Woman From Poland Since 2016
Mumbai, 12th March 2023: An FIR has been filed against a man for raping a woman from Poland in Mumbai repeatedly between November 2016 and 2022. The accused is absconding, and police are searching for him. After the complaint was given by this woman, the police registered a case. The victim has also told the police that Manish Gandhi raped and sexually abused her many times and blackmailed her.
The victim was working in a company in Andheri. At that time, Manish Gandhi created an obscene story using her name and shamed her by sending the video. The victim also said that Manish Gandhi often behaved inappropriately. After the woman’s complaint, the Amboli police registered a case. The victim also said that when she went with him to Germany, Goregaon, Delhi or other workplaces, he took pictures of her and tortured her physically and mentally.
“Accused Manish Gandhi was blackmailing and exploiting me for a long time. He threatened me that if I don’t listen to him, he will send offensive photos and videos to my relatives,” she said. After the woman made this complaint, a case has been registered against Manish Gandhi under sections 354 A, 354 C, 509, 506 and 67 A.
The woman from Poland came to India for a job. She was offered a job by Manish Gandhi, CEO of Asian Business Exhibitions and Conferences Ltd (ABECL). The first few months were great. However, Manish Gandhi started harassing the victim. He started getting intimate with her by sending obscene videos on her mobile phone. After that, both went to Germany for an exhibition. There Gandhi raped the victim at a hotel. During this period, he had taken many obscene photos and videos of her. He used to threaten her by showing these photos and videos. Between 2017 and 2022, the accused continuously raped the victim. During this time, she also decided to go back to her homeland. But, she could not go back to Poland as Manish Gandhi took away all the necessary documents from her. All this made the victim very stressed. Finally, she filed a complaint against Manish Gandhi at Amboli Police Station through her lawyers. For this, she also submitted all the photos, videos and chats to the police.
The lawyer of the victim said that the victim has been suffering sexual harassment for the past seven years. She was threatened using her private photograph. She was sexually harassed. Because of this, she is going through various mental problems like anxiety, panic attacks, sleep problems, trauma and depression. It took her a year to recover from the shock. After that, she gathered her courage and decided to take legal action against the accused, so she has now filed a police complaint in this matter, after which this shocking incident came to light.
