Mumbai: Fire Breaks Out At Building, Five Injured

Mumbai, 26th March 2023: On Sunday, a fire started on the fourth floor of an MHADA colony building in Mumbai’s Kanjurmarg neighbourhood, injuring five people, according to a statement from the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The fire started at 9.25 am in an MHADA colony building at Karve Nagar in Kanjurmarg East. As soon as they received the information, the Mumbai Fire Brigade sped over to the scene and started fighting the fire.

By roughly 9.57 am, the Mumbai fire brigade had put out the fire, according to the local government.

According to the civic organisation, the fire was contained to the electrical wire in the 14-story residential building’s electric duct and the common electric metre cabin on the ground level.

All five injured people were taken urgently to the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in the area. “Five patients were sent to the hospital with injuries and smoke inhalation asphyxia. They are in good health,” declared the civic body.

Vimal Jalinder Sakte (74), Alka Sakte (40), Natasha Sakte (13), Anjali Mavlankar (60), and Karuna Ubale (65) were among those hurt in the event, according to the BMC.

It has not yet been determined what started the fire.
