Mumbai: Former Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata Admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital: Health Status Under Close Monitoring

Mumbai, 7th October 2024: Former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata has reportedly been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Reports indicate that Tata, a prominent figure in the Indian business landscape for over 50 years, was taken to the hospital during the early hours of Monday, with some sources stating the time as approximately 12:30 to 1:00 am.

The 86-year-old industrialist has faced various age-related health issues but has remained engaged in social activities within his limited capacity.

According to media accounts, Tata was immediately placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he is being closely monitored by a team of specialists led by renowned cardiologist Dr. Sharukh Aspi Golwalla.

Ratan Naval Tata is recognized as a leading industrialist and philanthropist and served as the chairman of Tata Sons from 1990 until 2012. He briefly held the position of interim chairman from October 2016 to February 2017.

Tata continues to oversee the Tata Group’s charitable trusts. His contributions to society have been acknowledged nationally; he received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in 2008, following the Padma Bhushan, which he was awarded in 2000.
