Mumbai: Heavy Vehicles Entry Banned Amid Consecutive Festivals To Ensure Public Safety
Mumbai, 26th September 2023: In anticipation of Anant Chaturdashi and Eid-e-Milad, authorities have announced a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles from midnight of September 27 to midnight of September 29 in Mumbai City, Thane City and Navi Mumbai. The ban aims to mitigate traffic congestion and ensure public safety during the festivities.
Mumbai is gearing up for back-to-back celebrations as the city will observe Anant Chaturdashi on September 28, 2023, followed by Eid-e-Milad on September 29, 2023. Both festivals are significant cultural events that attract large crowds, leading to increased footfall on the streets.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, authorities have decided to impose a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles in Mumbai City, Thane City, and Navi Mumbai City. The ban will be effective from midnight of September 27 to midnight of September 29.
The ban restricts heavy vehicles from entering via the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and NH48 Highway, which are key arterial routes connecting to Mumbai City, Thane City, and Navi Mumbai City.
