Mumbai: Joggers And Runners Protest After Woman Dies In Accident With Speeding Car At Worli Sea Face

Mumbai, 20th March 2023: A woman died on Sunday after being hit by a speeding car at Mumbai’s Worli Sea Face. In this case, the joggers and runners of Worli have started a protest at the Worli police station. The name of the woman who died in the accident is Rajalakshmi Rajakrishnan. The lady was walking near Worli Dudh Dairy. At that time, a speeding car hit her. The incident has been protested by joggers and runners in Worli, according to ANI.

Rajalakshmi Rajakrishnan was walking near the Worli dairy around 6:30 in the morning. At that time, the driver of a speeding car lost control and hit the woman. After that, the car also hit the divider there. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the car hit the woman from behind. She was seriously injured in the incident and was shifted to Nair Hospital with the help of locals and police. The doctor there examined her and declared the woman dead.

In this case, a case of careless driving will be registered against the driver. The name of the accused driver is Sumer Merchant (23), a resident of Taddeo. He is also injured in the accident. He had gone to drop off his girlfriend and was on his way back when the accident occurred. He has been taken into custody by the Worli police and will undergo a medical examination to check if he had consumed alcohol. After the woman’s death, joggers and runners in Worli protested the incident and staged a sit-in at the Worli police station.
