Mumbai: Man arrested for sexually assaulting dog in Andheri
Mumbai, 4th April 2023: A man was arrested by the Amboli police for allegedly committing an unnatural act of torture on a female dog in the Andheri area. The incident occurred on Sunday night near Paan stall, opposite Balaji Telefilm at Vira Desai Marg. A 25-year-old woman who happened to pass by saw the accused dragging the dog and immediately went to investigate.
The woman discovered that the accused was abusing the animal in an unnatural manner and managed to scare him away. She then apprehended the man and took him to the Amboli police station to file a complaint against him. The Amboli police registered a case under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 based on her complaint.
The accused, a 45-year-old man residing in Andheri West, was taken into police custody. The police have yet to identify the accused or release any further information about the case.
