Mumbai: One Arrested By NCB For Smuggling And Selling Hash
Mumbai, 15th March 2023: The Mumbai team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested an accused with 1/4 kg of hashish (hash/hay) after conducting operations at Kalyan-Shilphata in Thane and Kharghar in Navi Mumbai. In this case, Rs 40 lakh cash and 970 grams of gold have also been seized. NCB is investigating further in this regard.
While investigating the case of a drug sale in Mumbai, the NCB got information about an active sale of hash and other drugs in Mumbai. NCB learned that the accused had brought drugs and hidden them in a shop in Kalyan-Shilphata. Accordingly, the godown and two other shops were searched. One kg of 100-gram packets of hash and seven lakh rupees in cash were seized from there. The accused was detained.
NCB immediately launched a search operation at his house in Kharghar. 70 grams of drugs, Rs 33.45 lakh, and 970 grams of gold were seized from there. The investigation revealed that cash and gold were acquired from the sale of drugs. The accused used to order hashish from other states and sell it in Mumbai and nearby areas. NCB is investigating further in this regard.
