Mumbai: School Bus Catches Fire in Virar West; Prompt Response Averts Tragedy
Virar, 28th June 2023: In a startling incident that unfolded on Wednesday morning (June 28), a serious fire engulfed a school bus parked in front of Viva College in Virar West. Due to the mindfulness of the bus driver and the timely response of the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade, no lives were lost in the incident.
The bus driver was driving the bus as usual to bring the children around 7:30 on Wednesday morning when the fire suddenly broke out. The driver immediately informed the fire brigade of Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation about the incident. On getting information about the incident, the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within an hour.
According to the information, the fire started due to a spark in the vehicle. Four to five students from the nearby area were evacuated safely, according to the fire brigade personnel. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the school bus was damaged. As soon as the firefighters learned about the incident, they immediately brought the fire under control.
