Mumbai: Slow Line Trains Rerouted To Fast Lines As NI Block Takes Place At Lower Parel

Mumbai, 27th December 2024: A significant Non-Interlocking (NI) block will be carried out on the night of 27th and 28th December 2024 at Lower Parel station to facilitate the installation of a new Electronic Interlocking (EI) panel. The block will last for 5 hours, from 11:30 PM on Friday, 27th December, until 4:30 AM on Saturday, 28th December.
During this time, all Slow line trains will be rerouted to the Fast lines between Mumbai Central and Mahim stations. Consequently, local train services will be unavailable at Mahalaxmi, Lower Parel, Prabhadevi, Matunga Road, and Mahim stations.
“Additionally, some local trains on the UP and DOWN Slow lines will be cancelled due to the block. Passengers are advised to make note of these changes and adjust their travel plans accordingly,” an official said.
This block is part of the ongoing modernization efforts at Lower Parel station, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capacity of the suburban railway system.
