Mumbai to face 15 percent water cut for 48 hours due to pipeline damage during construction
Mumbai, 27th March 2023: During the construction work of a box culvert, by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) at Hari Om Nagar, near Mulund Octroi Naka, Eastern Express Highway, it was reported today (27th March 2023) that the 2,345 mm. dia‘Mumbai-2’ water main which supplies water from Pise-Panjarapur treatment plant Complex, has been damaged.
The work of repairing the leakage of this water main has been taken up immediately. The water pipeline restoration work is being scheduled from today 27th March 2023 at 10 pm to Wednesday 29th March 2023 at 10pm (48 Hours). Therefore, the water supply to most of the areas in Eastern Suburbs and City area will be affected & 15 percent water cut is being imposed during the above mentioned period.
The details of the affected areas is as follows:
Eastern Suburbs:
1) T Ward – Mulund (East) & (West) area
2) S Ward – Bhandup, Nahur, Kanjurmarg & Vikhroli (East) area
3) N ward – Vikhroli, Ghatkopar (East), Ghatkopar (West)
4) L Ward – Kurla (East) area
5) M/East Ward- Entire ward
6) M/West Ward – Entire Ward
City:
1) A Ward – Entire ward
2) B Ward – Entire ward
3) E Ward – Entire ward
4) F/South Ward- Entire ward
5) F/North Ward – Entire Ward
All citizens residing in these areas, are requested to use water judiciously during the said period and co-operate with municipal administration, BMC has appealed.
