Mumbai: Two Arrested For Drinking And Misbehaviour On Flight

Mumbai, 23rd March 2023: On a Wednesday Indigo trip from Dubai to Mumbai, two passengers were detained after getting intoxicated and mistreating the flight attendants and other passengers.

Two passengers, John G. Dsouza (49) and Dattatray Bapardekar (47) were the subjects of an FIR. They both hail from Maharashtra.

According to reports, the two who worked in Dubai purchased wine from a duty-free shop and drank half a bottle on their journey to Mumbai. They were “celebrating” their first year of employment in Dubai.

According to officials, the accused also crossed the aisle of the aircraft while cursing at the flight crew and other passengers.

The two passengers were detained and charged with endangering the life and safety of others per IPC Section 336. They were additionally charged with assault and intoxication under special aircraft regulations.

At eight in the morning, the IndiGo flight departed Dubai, and the two passengers immediately started drinking. Co-passengers complained about their constant drinking on the flight, and when they were ordered to stop, the two accused allegedly yelled insults at the other passengers.

One of the cabinet staff filed a complaint alleging that two passengers continued to consume alcohol after warnings. The crew informed the pilot about the occurrence. When the pair arrived at the airport in Mumbai, they were detained.
