Mumbai University Aims for Effective Implementation of National Education Policy

Mumbai, 5th January 2024: In a strategic move towards the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP), the Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, has announced plans to coordinate with the Union Education Minister, Niti Aayog, UGC, and NACC to conduct a national-level workshop. The initiative aims to bring more clarity to the implementation of the NEP in the state and is set to take place in New Delhi and Mumbai University, organized by the Higher Education Department of Maharashtra.

During a preparatory meeting for the proposed national seminar on the new education policy held in Delhi, Minister Patil emphasized the need for effective communication of crucial decisions to the students. He instructed the effective use of social media to convey important updates from the Higher and Technical Education Department.

The Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, plans to coordinate with key educational bodies to conduct a national-level workshop in New Delhi and Mumbai University. The workshop aims to provide clarity on the implementation of the new National Education Policy.

Minister Patil emphasized the effective use of social media to communicate important decisions to students. Instructions were given to update the department’s web portal, providing university-wise information in multiple languages such as Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil, and Marathi. A Twitter handle for the Higher and Technical Education Department will be created to regularly update informative content.

Minister Patil spoke at a preparatory meeting for the proposed national seminar on the new education policy. Attendees included Principal Secretary Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Director of Higher Education Dr. Shailendra Devlankar, Director of Technical Education Dr. Vinod Mohitkar, and other prominent figures in the education sector.

The Higher and Technical Education Department has implemented various initiatives and innovative schemes related to the new education policy in the state. A working group with NITI Aayog will be formed to ensure effective implementation and obtain more clarity on the policy. The department aims to increase the use of social media to reach students and universities across the country, highlighting the innovative and strategic reforms of the Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department.

The seminar in Mumbai is expected to play a pivotal role in branding the new education policy of Maharashtra, with efforts to organize various seminars and workshops across the state. Minister Patil also suggested the publication of books on relevant subjects and encouraged the participation of universities from at least 10 states across the country.
