Mumbai University Declares BCom Semester 5 Exam Results On Time with Successful Sticker and Online Attendance Systems

Mumbai, 14th December 2023: The University of Mumbai has declared the results of the BCom Semester 5 examination for the final year of the academic year 2023-24 within the scheduled time. The commerce branch of the winter session witnessed the outcome of the examination, showcasing the effectiveness of the newly implemented sticker and online attendance systems for result accuracy.

The deployment of a sticker and online attendance method played a crucial role in maintaining result accuracy. The University successfully concluded the examination without reserving any results, a testament to the efficiency of the systems in place. Vice-Chancellor Dr Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice-Chancellor Dr Ajay Bhamre, Registrar Dr Sunil Bhirud, and Director of the Examination Department Dr Prasad Karande collaborated tirelessly to ensure the timely announcement of results.

Out of the 60,073 students who registered for the BCom Semester 5 examination, a total of 57,692 students appeared for the test, with 2,381 students reported as absent. The results indicate that 35,874 students did not pass the examination, and there were 73 reported cases of malpractice. The overall pass percentage for the BCom Semester 5 results stands at 37.74 per cent.

To address issues arising from incorrectly written seat numbers and barcodes in the summer session, the university introduced an innovative solution. For the winter session, a PDF file containing essential student information was sent to every examination centre. The file was then printed on stickers provided by the university and affixed to the answer sheets. The inclusion of a QR code facilitated immediate access to student information, eliminating the need to reserve results. Additionally, an online attendance system was implemented to monitor student presence during examinations.

The University of Mumbai has successfully declared 18 results for the winter session of 2024 to date. The detailed results are available on the university’s official website (http://www.mumresults.in/).

Vice-Chancellor Dr Ravindra Kulkarni attributes the timely announcement of results to the dedicated efforts of college principals who prioritized evaluations and teachers who promptly completed the assessment process.
