Mumbai: Woman Dies After Tempo Runs Over Six Pedestrians in Ghatkopar
Mumbai, 28th December 2024: A woman lost her life after a tempo ran over six pedestrians in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, on Friday, according to officials.
The injured individuals were immediately taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar for medical attention.
The incident occurred around 6:30 PM in the Chirag Nagar fish market area when the tempo driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
The deceased woman has been identified as Preety Patel, a resident of Parsiwadi in Ghatkopar. The injured victims include Reshma Shaikh, Tofa Shaikh, Mehram Ali Shaikh, and Marufa Shaikh, the police confirmed.
The driver, Uttar Kharat, has been arrested, and authorities are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
