Mumbai: Youth Apprehended for Using Sword During Birthday Celebration

Dombivli, 27th June 2023: Amid the ban on the use of weapons in public places, some high-spirited youths from the Patripool area near Dombivli celebrated their friend’s birthday with the sword in his hand on the street. The incident, which took place on Sunday night in the Patripool area near Dombivli, quickly gained attention after it was shared on social media.
Irfan Jamadar, who lives in the Patripool area of Kalyan, had his birthday on Sunday. His friends decided to celebrate his birthday in a big way. Eight cakes brought by friends were arranged in a row on the stage in front of his house. Irfan cut the cake with a sword. During this time, some friends captured this birthday event on their mobile phones and streamed it on social media.
To the surprise of the police, this incident adds to a growing trend of using swords and pistols in public places during traditional ceremonies such as wedding ceremonies, bull birthdays, winning celebrations, etc. Over the past two years, numerous offences under the Arms Prohibition Act have been registered at police stations in Kalyan and Dombivli, targeting those involved in such acts.
When the police saw that he had used the sword for his birthday, they started searching for the young man. After it was found that this incident happened in the Patripool area, the team of Tilaknagar Police Station Senior Police Inspector Ajay Affle arrested Irfan from the Patripool area. He has been apprehended by the police.
