Navi Mumbai: Duo Arrested For Causing Accident And Stealing

Navi Mumbai, 26th March 2023: The APMC police have arrested a duo of friends for purposely colliding with a caravan with their bike, quarrelling with the driver, distracting him, and stealing from him. Both of them have been remanded in police custody for four days.

The names of the arrested accused are Suraj Patil and Archana Pawar. Both are 21 years old and reside in Rabale. On Friday afternoon, while on a two-wheeler, they dashed a car near the Bonkode signal. When the car driver stopped the car and asked them questions, both of them fought and ran away with his mobile phone. After realizing this matter, the driver of the car directly approached the APMC police station and lodged a complaint. In this regard, Senior Police Inspector Tanveer Sheikh immediately sent a team of Assistant Police Inspector Wasim Sheikh, Nilesh Shewale, Police Constable Sandesh Mhatre, Shashi Nalavde, Chandrakant Kadam, Ulhas Kale, and Pradeep Harad to the area to search for the accused. At that time, while the team was searching for a couple matching the description of the accused and their bike, the two suspects were found by the police under the Greenpark building within APMC police station limits.

The team immediately detained them and brought them to the police station. The prosecutor identified them. They also confessed to the crime. When the accused were produced in the court, they were remanded in police custody for four days, informed Senior Police Inspector Tanveer Shaikh.
